Dr Natalie Ferres, has launched her latest publication, the book People Development: An Inside View to Developing Individuals, Leaders and Organisations (co-edited with Sean O’Toole and Julia Connell). The book features thought-leading commentary from experts in the field and provides practical examples of transformational people practices in action.
Overview
Organised into three parts, the book ‘People Development’ provides unique insights into methods that develop: (i) individuals, (ii) leaders and managers, and (iii) organisations. Each section begins with an overview of a specific process from leading thinkers, followed by real case studies of people development initiatives in practice.
Examples are drawn from leading Asia-Pacific private sector, public sector and not-for-profit organisations in order to illustrate how individuals, leaders and organisations are being transformed. Amongst others, cases include: Henry Davis York (HDY) National Australia Bank, Mission Australia, Hutchinson ‘3’, Network 10 and Victoria Police.
Launch event
Bendelta recently held its first book launch event. The launch profiled a case study of one of the initiatives outlined in the book, the “People Spirit Leadership” transformation program at Henry Davis York (HDY). HDY is often cited as the best law firm to work at in NSW, and is a frequent winner of awards in this domain. Staying at the top in the competitive legal sector, however, requires outstanding leadership, starting with the Board and partnership. Under the ‘People Spirit Leadership’ banner that articulates the firm’s careful balance, Sharon and Jan explained the transformational programs that have driven an outstanding leadership culture and the measurable results that this has produced.
